배경
Flagsmith가 기능을 켜고 끄는 역할에 머물러 A/B 테스트와 사용자 그룹별 실험이 어려웠습니다. 한 번에 교체하면 전체 서비스와 진행 중인 플래그가 영향을 받을 수 있었습니다.
과정
- 기존 Flagsmith와 같은 방식으로 사용할 수 있는 어댑터를 두어 두 시스템을 병행 운영했습니다.
- 플래그를 하나씩 GrowthBook으로 옮기고 문제가 생기면 즉시 되돌릴 수 있게 했습니다.
- GrowthBook을 Kubernetes에 설치하고 실험 지표를 ClickHouse와 연결했으며, 비개발 직군을 위한 운영 가이드도 만들었습니다.
결과
- 서비스 중단 없는 점진 전환
- 실험 결과를 근거로 판단하는 운영 체계 확보
- PM·마케터가 직접 실험을 구성할 수 있는 기반 마련

Context
Flagsmith was being used mainly to toggle features, making A/B tests and audience experiments difficult. A big-bang replacement could disrupt the service and active flags.
Process
- Built a compatibility adapter so Flagsmith and GrowthBook could run in parallel behind the same interface.
- Migrated flags to GrowthBook one at a time with immediate rollback available.
- Deployed GrowthBook on Kubernetes, connected experiment metrics to ClickHouse, and wrote an operating guide for non-engineering teams.
Outcome
- Incremental migration with no service interruption
- Established evidence-based product decisions
- Enabled product and marketing teams to configure experiments directly
